Old 325

It is an old 325-6 that has been running in an old Phillips 66 gas station. It gave up the ghost and we sold them a new 325L. I know Quincy sold a lot of these compressors to Phillips back in the day. The customer said if this one lasted that long he would be crazy not to buy a new one.

One of the Oldest

I have a quincy compressor that I drug out from our pasture which I believe is dated to the 1920’s and surprisingly it still works! My great uncle used to have it in his service station/liquor store in waco a long time ago.

Not the oldest just the BEST

My Quincy is not the oldest compressor out there by a long shot it is just the Best USA Made compressor there is and I could not work with out it.

Dunmire’s Quincy 325-1

Dunmire Equipment Company’s Quincy 325-1 s/n:180958L has been in operation since installed new in their Allis-Chalmers later Fiatallis construction machinery dealership’s service department in the 1940’s. The compressor has survived three generations of family business ownership and is in use today. It has received little attention of oil changes and a rare gasket replacement.

In the past the dealership did extensive crawler track work with up to 1″ drive impacts and more recently the compressor has powered an atomizing waste oil heater, sometimes overnight.

As far as anyone still involved in the business knows, it is in it’s original installed location.

The Story Behind my Quincy 325 Compressor

I was originally looking at purchasing a Quincy QT-5 5HP 80 gallon vertical compressor, but came across this QR-25 Series 325 compressor by accident. I was inquiring about some woodworking equipment and a compressor that was coming up on a local cabinet shop auction. I was informed that the compressor in theat shop was not going to be on the auction, however….the auction company had informed me that they had a 5HP 80 gallon vertical compressor at there warehouse that they would give me a good deal on. I had inquired some information as to what brand and model it was, and they were not 100% for sure of the make, but they said the pump had Quincy and 325 stamped on the serial badge. And so the story begins….
